When a source update cannot complete and the previous state is safely restored, the update is marked as failed so a later source save can proceed. The existing development data is preserved. If the outcome is uncertain, preparation remains blocked for review; restarting the watcher does not prove recovery.

This fix requires Manager 0.1.0-alpha.89 before Core 0.8.163. No SDK update or database reset is required.
